Musicians
Tim Oakes hails from Devon, England, a foundation in classical piano providing a solid base for his later venture into other genres of music; he played blues and rock in the pubs, soul and funk in the clubs, the American songbook on the European piano bar circuit. Based in the south of Spain, he worked with two separate jazz fusion bands and became vocal diva Madeline Bell’s keyboardist and arranger. Cruise ship gigs followed, including a long spell as resident pianist at QE2’s renowned Yacht Club. Moving to the United States in 1997, he spent five years as musical director on board Florida’s Palm Beach Princess before relocating to South Carolina and the Alabama Theatre, where he has been performing since 2002. Tim’s Bickleigh Bridge CD, an album of original compositions, is available in the gift shop.
