Dita Sartain

Dancers

Dita Sartain is originally from the Washington D.C. area, Dita began her dance training at the age of two, and spent her formative years studying at The Washington School of Ballet, training under Mary Day. During her time there, she performed in various shows including Septime Webre’s, The Nutcracker and appeared in venues such as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Dita continued her education at Oklahoma City University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance. During her four years at OCU she performed extensively with The American Spirit Dance Company, served as a line captain, and was featured in numerous university productions.

Her professional career has taken her to stages across the country. Dita has performed as a featured dancer at Kings Dominion in Richmond, and later joined Cirque du Soleil as a Promotional Dancer for Totem in both Washington, D.C. and New York City. Her theatre credits include The Wizard of Oz (Centenary Stage Company, NJ), Les Misérables (Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma), and The Sound of Music (Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma). 

Dita is a familiar face at Alabama Theatre where she spent multiple seasons as a featured dancer in One The Show and The South’s Grandest Christmas Show. Now back in South Carolina, Dita is excited to return to Alabama Theatre! Off-stage, she balances coastal living alongside her husband and their two children.
