"My Story, My Song"
Denise Tichenor has been a regular cast member of the Alabama Theatre's 'The South’s Grandest Christmas Show' for almost 15 years. You would have heard her soulful voice singing the ‘Christmas Song’ and ‘Mary Did You Know’ to name a few.
She is now very excited to present her very own solo show.
During Denise's solo show, she will share music from her past influences growing up as pastor's daughter, these songs will include “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Nessun Dorma”, “I Will Always Love You” & “Tell Me Something Good” plus familiar inspirational hymns, including those of Gospel great, Mahalia Jackson. She will also share music that she has grown to love by some her industry and musical influences such as Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston and more. Denise has also written and recorded many of her own original songs and will share some of those during this wonderful evening as she celebrates her musical journey.
Denise has been a performer in the gospel industry for over 35 years and has performed all over the world: Spain, Italy, Africa, Australia and more. She has been a regular lead singer on the Bobby Jones Gospel on BET for over 20 years and has also been featured in the Gospel Music Encyclopedia "Uncloudy Days" among many of the gospel greats. Denise also continues to sing with the legendary group, Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers.
