Denrey Christy

Denrey Christy was born and raised here in Horry County, in the small town of Aynor. As a young teenager, he was working as a musician professionally here in the Myrtle Beach area with his father’s steel drum band. Denrey attended Coastal Carolina University, earning a bachelor’s degree in both Music Performance and Applied Mathematics, before continuing his education at the University of South Florida in Tampa, earning a master’s degree in jazz music performance. He has played for classical orchestras, rock bands, jazz groups, folk troubadours, and the occasional musical theater production.
